Kalia Kalacheva and Kaloyan Nikolov
Exhibition of painting and photography
Museum of Photography,
Kazanlak, Str. Chudomir
“Convergence” is an exhibition that presents the creative collaboration between the artists Kaloyan Nikolov (photographer) and Kalia Kalacheva (painter). The two met to explore the combination between photography and painting.
The trust between the convergent and laboratory work of the two artists places freedom at the highest level. Painting and photography meet in a new field of intervention, collaborative, together and of course experimental. Photography has its innumerable riches in the digital world – the variations of colours, extremely precise lines and interpretations, on the other hand Kalia Kalacheva’s painting appears as a real gesture, she is able to transform, sometimes to destroy the photography to create a completely new artwork. It offers real sensations, layers of paint interfere in all the layers of the painting, there are spills without control.
The end result is the transformation of the frame into an experience, the edition into a unique work of art, and the laboratory into an exhibition.
